Election 2008

This years election was completely different.I never took any interest in it anyway.
This election it was different because this time a African-American man was running for president and it was usually a white guy. There has been forty-three white presidents,and he is the first bi-racial American elected for president. A lot of people didn't want an African-American for president but many people believed in a change. Obama wanted to help the middle class people with health care,and cutting taxes. I don't know much about all the changes he believed in,but i think he had alot of good ideas because a lot of people were exited about him becoming [president. I also noticed a great exitment in Latinos and cacasiun people were also. I really noticed excitment in my parents, they were really interested in what was going on and for who was going to be our new president for the new year. It also seemed that Hilory Clinton was working very hard to get elected for president, and im not saying that she seems interesiting becasue she was clintons wife but because she was a strong working woman and she believed in heself. I dont know so much about McCain either but he also had some good things to look forward to but i wasnt so interested in him. I heard alot of people didnt want him for president because he was old i didnt see this on tv but i heard it on the way to school on the radio (i seriously think he looks like frosty the snow man..thats not good) Anyway... I think Obama has many promises that he will keep because he lived and he has felt like and middle class person and he knows how hard it it to live that way.Especially because he was raised by a single mother. I admire him for achieving his goals.

thankful

I'm thankful for having the most amazing friends. My friends are the best,they are silly,and fun. Alot of people have friends that talk bad about them,and treat them bad,and are really mean to them. My friends would never do that to me (:
Another thing i'm thankful for is my kitty! I'm happy that i have a nice,playful kitty that i can talk to and play tag with,and throw him up trees to catch evil birds. He's the best kitty ever,i love him.
I'm also thankful for having a good family,even though they make me want to shoot myself,i still love them.

"I swung with everything I had. Alexandros spun and dropped,face-fist into the dirt,blood and spittle slinging from the side of his mouth"
When i read this i could picture what was happening in the story. I like how the author wrote this part.i could see his partner falling down and the blood coming out of his mouth. Its really gross but you can imagine whats happening.

"I fear the sea anytime, but never more than on a moonless night and in the hands of strangers."
i also like this one because when you read it you can tell that they are scared being out at sea and it's a moonless night,and they are with strangers. So they don't feel safe. I would be scared if i was out at sea and the moon wasn't out and if i was with strangers.

Dialectic Journals

"I had always wondered what it felt like to die."
When i read this i was thinking "why would someone wonder about what it feels like to die" it was really weird when i first read it, they were probably thinking about the people who died during the battles and how they felt. It was interesting to me because when i started to read the book that was the first thing that struck me as interesting. Also because after i read that i wanted to know who was thinking that,and why they were thinking that. It's really weird that when you are reading that is at the top of the page and its kind of where the story starts. It also makes you think about the characters and what they are going to be like.

"Oh God," my cousin said when she saw my hands.
When i read this at the end of the paragraph i didn't know his hands would be that bad. He didn't describe his hands in detail, so you would never know how his hands looked. But when you read the last sentence in the paragraph you can tell that his hands are badly hurt.

"I was only a child, he told me. What prodigies of valor could be expected from a lad of ten? 'Boys are mean at ten in Sparta,' I declared.
This quote really struck me because it tells alot about the character Xerxes. He is telling a story about his childhood. You can tell that when he was a child he really wanted to grow up and be something great

The Secret Life of Bees: Challenge Assignment

The movie The Secret Life of bees was really good and it was alot like the book. Three things that were different from the book was that in the movie they didn't talk alot about the black Mary like they did in the book, in almost every chapter they talked about the black Mary. In the movie they skipped alot of parts,like in the beginning when Rosaleen took the two fans from the church,and when they took Lily and Rosaleen to the jail.
Some of the things that were the same were when they had the church meeting in the house,when they all went up to the black Mary and put their hand on her heart, and when Lily's mom died. I loved the movie,it's one of my favorite movies now. It was very sad when may died,and when august read the note that she left before she died. All the actors did a very good job. I loved the whole movie!
The book was really good too, when i watched the movie i remembered all the parts of the book,and i was watching to see if they changed anything. The movie and book were good, Now The Secret Life of Bees is my favorite movie and book!

I LOVE this picture because its the first picture Matthew took when he bleached his hair, and i think its the best picture that the photographer took. In this picture it kind of looks like Matthew is heart broken,and hes trying to move on and feel better. You can tell that Matthew is a clam person.

Secret Life of Bees code!

I thought the book was going to be really boring,but the book was really good when i started to read it.I thought the book was going to be boring,but i was wrong. It was a very good book! It's one of my favorite books now.
i didn't know the book was gonna be about her trying to find her mom. I though the book was going to be about bees!

This Weekend!!!

On saturday me,desire,and nandi were silly singing snakes[: We were running rapidly like rabbits around the silly slimy mall. Inside macys people were playing african music with drums and we danced!! Then we went to sample Victoria's Secret sexy signature scented lotions. We went to the food court were we bounced to the big burger king stand and Desire bought crispy crunchy chicken fries,me and nandi got fiery fries!! [: i love my silly singing snake friends<33

My cat waffles i the best cat eveerr. Hes the kitty that ate the ice cream. My cat is really cute and he eats bugs! :D if you tell him to follow you he comes and he goes for walks(somethimes) he eats anything and likes to lay in the dirt.....i love my kitty :):)

epic :)

An Epic is a really long poem that describes a hero and his/her achievements. It 's something heroic and is a big deal.

Some examples that I considered epic was( lines 53-56) when Apollo listens to his priest Cyryses prayers and takes actions & attacks the camp. I thought it showed he was helping Chryses,
and another example was when Achilles stands up and talks back to Agamemnon, because no one else would stand up to him. (lines 159-181!)
My last example is on lines 335-338...when Agamemnon says that hes going to take Achilles girl, but(lines 366)Achilles prays to his mother Thetis and ask for help,I think that it was good to ask for help instead of thinking that he can do everything himself.

My Hero: animal activists

My Heros are animal activists because they think its wrong to kill animals,and hurt them. They say that animals need rights too,and they want to help them. Alot of people are animal activists so i couldn't just choose one.
Animal activists speak for the animals cause animals can't speak! (its true) they know how the animal feels.

alot of people don't care about animals,they say that animals are made for food! Thats really stupid cause we don't need meat to survive,and alot of farms beat animals really bad! Those people are really stupid. I think that what the animal activists are doing is good,because animals have to be treated good and they shouldn't be killed.
